Section 1: Pledging and the Pledge Program
Pledge period: no later than meeting 3 until elevation period. Pledges need a minimum of six weeks in their pledge period.
To be considered for induction, complete, during Rush:
· 1 info session
· 2 fellowship events
· 1 service event
· 1 response to the pledge trainer’s prompt
You must attend an induction ceremony in order to become a Pledge. These may be excused with an university excuse.
To be considered for Elevation/Initiation, complete, by the end of the semester:
· 2 leadership points (1 as a pledge class)
· 1 interchapter point
· one fellowship event, one service project, and one fundraising event as a Pledge class
Before Pledge Elevation:
· 15/20 service hours completed, signed up for the remaining 5
· 1 fundraising point
· 5 Active meetings/Exec meetings
· All pledge meetings
· 3 fellowship events
· 2 Big/Little events
· A set number of cram slam hours (determined by Pledge trainers)
· Pledge Retreat
· Payment of dues/Initiation fees or make arrangements for these payments
· Progress interviews
· Chapter interviews
· All pledge quizzes with an 80% on first attempt. (for retakes, 90 on second, 100 following)
Pledges must show desirable character as well as completing these requirements.
Cram Slam is a study time for Pledges and Actives.
Pledge Retreat is a two-day event off-campus designed to bring the Pledge class together as well as convey the ideals of Alpha Phi Omega.
Pledges who are not initiated may re-pledge the following semester pending a majority vote of the Active membership.
Pledges who do decided to, and are approved to, re-pledge do not have to re-pay pledge dues but their requirements are completed refreshed.
Bigs must:
· Be Active (Active w/o meeting works)
· Be in good standing with the fraternity
· Be able to pass the pledge quizzes with an 80
· Spend 1 hour a week with their little
· Attend a Rush event, pledge retreat, Big/Little reveal, and elevation meeting unless excused
· Write a letter to their Little(s)
· Attend 2 Chapter events with their Little
· Attend 2 hours of cram slam with their little
· Attend pledge progress interviews with each of their littles
· Attend Initiation
Section II: Requirements
Newly-Initiated Actives have the same requirements as a Pledge but the privileges of an Active. This is an intermediate status.
Actives w/o Meetings have all Active requirements except meeting attendance. All privileges of activity remain.
To stay active, per semester:
· Complete 20 service hours, 5 of which may be out-of-chapter.
· Attend 8 chapter/exec meeting.
· Attend 5 fellowship events
· Complete 6 fundraising hours. If an active is missing all but one, they may donate 15 dollars to the Chapter fund for their final point.
· Complete 5 leadership points.
· Attend 1 Interchapter event.
· Pay dues.
Only Actives may run for any office and those Actives must maintain a 2.75 GPA to hold those offices.
Section III: Committees
The Standing Committees of this chapter are the Executive Board, the Service Committee, the Membership Committee, the Fellowship Committee, and the Finance Committee. These meet outside of regular meeting.
Section IV: Meetings
Meetings are on Tuesdays, 6pm for pledges and 7:30 for actives unless otherwise announced by the chapter President.

Pledge Dues, due in two installments:
$25 National Pledge Fee

Active Dues:
$43 per brother, per semester, to be used as follows:
Fall $25 Annual Active Membership Dues

$6 National Convention Fund
$29 Chapter Dues

Associate Dues:
$20 per Brother, per semester, to be used as follows:
Fall & Spring $17 Chapter Dues

Inactive Dues:
Same as Actives + any dues missing from inactive semesters up to 20 dollars.

Section VI: Yearly Chapter Events
Each year, the chapter will participate in the following activities:
· Dance Blue
· Flex For a Cause
· Sectionals
· Regionals (biennially)
· Nationals (biennially)
· Chapter Retreat
- Pledge Retreat (each semester)
Section VII: Chapter Policies
Only initiated brothers, Alumni, or Honoraries may letters/insignia. Apparel with the fraternity symbols should not be displayed in an offensive manner. No one may consume alcohol or illegal drugs in fraternity letters. Pledges may wear shirts with the written “Alpha Phi Omega” but not the Greek letters themselves. Social media should be appropriately maintained.
AZ follows the national APO policies on risk management, sexual harassment, and alcohol policies.
No chapter money may be used to buy booze. No booze will be used as an official part of any APO event. Members of AZ who are 21+ may purchase alcohol if the alcohol served is by a legal third part vender. No current members of the fraternity may consume alcohol with potential/new members during the Rush/Pledge process.
AZ has no tolerance for Sexual Harassment. No current members may begin new relationships with potential/new members during the Rush/Pledge process. If you experience sexual harassment please contact an advisor for assistance.
Don’t haze. If you have experienced or witnessed hazing, let an Advisor know.
The listserv will be used for official business only.
Brothers should keep the happenings of any closed session a secret.
Cheating on requirements can have consequences and these consequences are determined by the Exec Board.
Any written ballot vote we take must be destroyed following its taly.
The chapter newsletter will go out at least twice a semester.
