Section V: Dues and Finances

Clause 1: Pledge Dues

 

Dues for Pledges shall be:

 

$25      National Pledge Fee

$15      Supply Fee

$5        National Insurance Fee

$35      National Initiation Fee

$5        Service Pin Fee

$3        APO Online Fee

$88 Total

 

Pledge dues are to be due in two (2) installments. The first installment covers all dues required by the National Office (National Pledge Fee and the National Insurance Fee)APO online fee and Supply Fee which is to be due before the time of the Induction Ceremony. The second installment covers the rest of the above fees which shall be due before the time of the Initiation Ceremony. If payment has not been made or suitable arrangements have not been made then the Pledge may not participate in the associated ceremony.

 

Clause 2: Active Dues

 

Dues for Active members shall be:

 

 $43 per brother, per semester, to be used as follows:

 

Fall      $25      Annual Active Membership Dues

            $5        Section Dues

            $5        Chapter Dues

            $5        National Insurance Fee

            $3        APO Online Fee

 

Spring  $5        Section Dues

            $6        National Convention Fund

            $29      Chapter Dues

            $3        APO Online Fee

 

Clause 3: Associate Dues

 

Dues for Associate members shall be:

 

$20 per Brother, per semester, to be used as follows:

 

Fall      $14      Chapter Dues

            $3        National Convention Fund

     $3         APO Online Fee

 

Spring  $14      Chapter Dues

             $3         National Convention Fund

      $3         APO Online Fee

 

Clause 4: Dues for Inactive Brother returning to Active status

 

Dues shall be the same as outlined above for Active Brothers, with the addition of the late fee if it was incurred during the previous semester. The maximum late fee shall be capped at twenty (20) dollars. If there is record that the member paid dues in the previous semester then no late fee shall be added to his/her dues for the current semester.

 

Clause 5: Convention Fund

 

 The Convention Fund will be allocated to the following, chronological methods of reimbursement:

 

1.                  First, the registration expenses of any voting delegates (including any banquets or souvenir pins), evenly distributed between the two (2) voting delegates.

2.                  Then, the transportation expenses of voting delegates attending a Convention over the expense of $200, evenly distributed between the two (2) voting delegates. (For example, if the cost is $250 per person, the fund will pay $50 per person.) Expenses must be approved by the Treasurer and Executive Committee.

 

For any Regional or Sectional conference, reimbursement responsibilities end here. National Convention reimbursements continue on with the following:

 

3.                  Then, the registration expenses of brothers attending National Convention (limited to convention registration), evenly distributed among those attending.

4.                  Then, the transportation expenses of brothers attending National Convention over the expense of $200, evenly distributed among those attending. (For example, if the cost is $250 per person, the fund will pay $50 per person.)

5.                  Remaining funds are to be saved in order to provide for financial demands of future National Convention(s). The account must maintain the minimum balance to stay open.

 

Voting delegates who do not fulfill all delegate duties must reimburse the Chapter for the funds that have been apportioned.  These duties include attending ALL legislative sessions and applicable Reference Committee meetings.

 

Those who use the National Convention Fund must be held accountable for their use, and therefore must present receipts of expenses to the Treasurer. Delegates and Brothers will not be reimbursed until receipts are presented.

 

Funds for other APO functions such as Membership Academy, APO LEADS, etc. can be requested through the appropriate officers in their budgets via the general Chapter budget.

 

The Treasurer should appoint a Convention Fund fundraising chair to create events for the purpose of contributing to this fund.

 

 

Voting delegates and Brothers attending any Convention may decline any or all of these funds at their own discretion.
